Manage to get back to the ship, however, and you’ll be free to spend it on character upgrades. Fail to return to that point with your next life and all the experience you had accrued will be lost. You’ll die a lot and, in true soulslike fashion, leave a ghostly spectre where you fell. Not only that, Dolmen loves to douse you in status ailments, whether it’s poison or slowing your movement. You and your enemies will simply flail around, taking chunks out of each other’s health bars with no real sense of mastery, your defence options never feeling particularly useful. No matter your loadout, Dolmen’s combat isn’t much fun. However, there’s also the option to roll as a recruit, which gives you more initial freedom in levelling up the stats to suit your own playstyle. These include the sword-wielding tank, dual-bladed assassin, and gun-toting sharpshooter. This can only be restored by consuming batteries which behave similarly to flasks from the Soulsborne saga, replenishing each time you reach a bonfi- err, Beacon.įrom the get go you have access to several character archetypes. Your suit is powered by a blue gauge that drains as you perform actions such as healing or firing your ranged weapon. She still didn't manage all the bosses, but did complete the quests.Energy is one of the concepts Dolmen introduces. However, she's ten levels higher than Spreads, and has better equipment, so it was less onerous than the dolmen. Like Spreads, she found herself doing a group job on her own, as there weren't more than two or three other players in there, and they kept going in different directions. Unna, meanwhile, has collected her final skyshard for the Stonefalls set, in Crows Wood. I should have created more male characters. I wonder if we have a record for the longest time one stayed open? There should be an achievement for that!Īnd then she discovered her inventory was full.īTW she's seen the new Argonian outfits in the Crown Store. Fortunately the Wayshrine's not far away. I think she died five times before she succeeded. When she noticed the one at Zabamat (in Stonefalls) opening up, she wandered over, to see if she could help. What's next? We are thinking public dungeons.Īnyways, it's been a long time since I've even attempted a Dolmen. It was kind of like having simultaneous orgasms!Īnyway, Maz has now officially soloed two WB's and a dolmen. It allowed her to lay down her healing AOE and keep Walks buffed while wearing down the strangler on her own. Walks took on the Lurcher and kept him in place next to the strangler, while Maz tackled the carnivorous plant. One was a near perfect takedown - the WB site held a boss lurcher and a boss strangler. And she welcomed the chance to work on her resto skills. Well, Maz technically isn't a tank, but she has high survivability these days thanks to her Thunderbug and Warrior's Poet set. Two tanks adventuring around taking on all comers was quite fun. Maz also got that last dolmen she needed. As Maz still had three more, we decided to team up and work our way around. It was then we learned that Walks had not yet tackled any of the WB's in Reapers. Walks showed up in time to see the dust settle. But we beat that sunuvbutch into the ground. Maz got nervous waiting and decided to go ahead and start the fight. Walks responded fairly quickly but while Maz was waiting behind the boss (a vampire lord, if i recall correctly), got tangled up with a dolmen and another WB on his way to us. So we pinged him with our magical whisper spell and asked if he wanted to help us with that boss. Maz has adventured with Walks before and knew he is a reliable fighter. A quick peek at our friends list showed that my friend Bear was online with Walks. We realized she has not yet cleared all the WB's in Reapers. One took her to Reaper's March right next to a WB. Oh, and I forgot to mention, Maz was out Tuesday night picking up surveys.
